New webshops lack seo and visibility in the search engines.

Marketing specialists have recently analized 200 new webshops on the most important criteria for being findable in the serps (search engine result pages) from Google. They discovered that only 8% of the investigated webshops conform to the basic criteria. This is a major difference with the 70% from renowed companies.

Natural search engine listings are the most important marketing channel for ecommerce sites. A group of internet marketeers made this conclusion after asking webshop owners about their marketing experience. The web shop owners praised search engine optimization for their webshops because of the positive effect on their name recognition (branding) and Return on Investment (ROI).
More than 60% of the questioned webshop owners decalred to be satisfied or more than satisfied with the results from search engine optimization.

48% Was satisfied or more than satisfied about advertising in search engines like Google Adwords en Yahoo Search Marketing.

The webshop owners were much less satisfied with their return on investment on email marketing and PR.
