Pinterest - How To Better Market Your Business Everyday

By Frankie Oertel

Have you heard of Pinterest? It is very interesting. What Pinterest represents is something similar to a visual collage of websites and items that you find interesting, presented in an image format, representing what you really like. What you share with other people are the images you "pin" to the board itself. It's like a giant bulletin board and Facebook got together and had a baby. When it comes to marketing a business, Pinterest is slowly being seen as a viable option. You need to think of how this social medium can work for your business everyday? Is it possible?

People follow each other here just like they do on Facebook and Twitter. Just like the old style blogs (where you shared links), this is basically the same concept. The portal has not been overrun by marketers, which is a good thing right at the moment. It is easy to use, plus not that many people are using it - so get in right now if you can. Now let's look at some ways to use this platform to your benefit.

If you need to, or are able to, pin and pin again. You want to be active on the site. Instinctually, everyone that starts once to take everything, pin it as fast as possible, and get it done to see how many people notice their information.

You need to connect your PInterest account to both your Twitter and your Facebook accounts. Your business will be represented by what you pin, plus people will follow through to your other accounts to see what you have to offer. It's also a good way to get your Facebook and Twitter followers to follow you on the Pinterest system. You can build your following, market your business across a few different platforms all at the same time. You can get a lot of cross traffic by simply using your social media icons in your profiles. Just set them up, and the people visiting one profile will follow through to the next.

Your board should consist of pins and 'repins' to change things up. You will see that a re-pin is just what it sounds like. Essentially, you are re-pinning what someone else has already pinned on their board. It should be very balanced, with pins and re-pins that make your board very novel and interesting. When people see this type of a mixture, they see that you're trying to make a very unique board. Once you get to know your followers, you will easily do repinning so that they will find your board interesting week after week. This will show active participation within your community which will be beneficial for you. There are scads of reasons to connect on Pinterest. For one thing, the system isn't flooded with many marketers yet therefore you will be one of the first to utilize the system for forming your business. For another, via the items you pin, it is a really good method for showing off your individuality and your need to help other people. Finally it's good because any opportunity you have to build your business and increase your community is a good opportunity.
