Hiring A Photographer For Your Child

By Stacey Burt

You have a child who is getting ready to graduate from high school. The one task that still must be completed before her graduation is having her senior pictures taken and there are many professionals in Green Bay WI that would love to take over this task for you. Every photographer will have his own style and technique so choose the professional who will take the type of photographs you have envisioned for your child.

Ask your child to select several outfits for the shoot and assist her if she needs help in choosing the most flattering styles. Select both casual and formal wear for the portfolio. Don't forget matching shoes if full-length shots are to be taken. Accent pieces such as hair items and assorted jewelry can all be included. She may want to have her hair styled so the more formal shooting can take place first and then she can relax the style and allow it to go back to its natural state for the casual photos.

Add special props for more impact. Select the types that are related to her interests. She can bring along such items as a musical instrument or a symbol of a club she belongs to. If she is in sports, have her dress the part and shoot photos of her in a basketball uniform, volleyball uniform or even a swimsuit if she is on the swim team. Cheerleaders should take shots at the actual school or even before, after or during a big game.

Bring along an individual who can assist with makeup. This will help hide flaws and bring out the very best features of your teenager. She will feel much more attractive and confident and the final proofs will show it.

Ask the photographer to take special care in ensuring that the photos are as natural as possible. Give the professional some background on the student so he will have a general idea of what she is all about. And don't just have color shots taken. Black and white or sepia photos can be quite appealing and bring out details that may be missed in color photographs.

Your teen's personality and charisma should shine through on these once-in-a-lifetime photos. The family will have a record of her high school years on hand that can be pulled out and reviewed often. Special frames can be purchased so the photos can be displayed around the living areas of the home.

Also ask the photographer to take some unexpected shots so he can catch your teen when she is unaware that she is being photographed. Some truly authentic and telling photos will show the authentic side of your child when this is done.

If you have many relatives and friends who live in other parts of the country, be sure to select poses that reflect the area in which you live. The wintry landscape and green spring landscape can become part of the photos as backdrops. You can also ask that school colors be featured with the plainer backgrounds for formal shots.

The last year of high school is so very important and this is why taking these photos is so appropriate. Be sure the photographer takes great care in taking the photos to produce a record of your teen's history that can be viewed for many years to come.
