Hiring a Nanny-How to Act When the Nanny Becomes the Mommy to the Child

By Alice Sy

Hiring a nanny is a blessing not everyone can have. There are no laws, may be some expectations and many unexpected twists along the way. This includes your child getting close to the nanny. What if that closeness came to the point when your child actually refers to the nanny as his or her mommy? Don't worry, read on, know the right reactions and be happy.

Be Mature

Don't get mad and interview a nanny again to hire one. Of course, a parent would always be number one in a child's heart. Remember that this is normal for children to behave beyond expectations. Don't get mad especially if the nanny really loves your child, this is actually a sign that the child reciprocates that love, you'll just need time to enter the picture, and you'll have it as your child grows up.

Don't be Like a Police

By now, your nanny must have passed a nanny criminal background check. There's no need to constantly watch over her and your child to the point of putting up a nanny cam. Your curiosity on your child's affection to the nanny will be answered if you spend time with them too.

You can be jealous

Some mothers suddenly perform Nanny criminal background check when they feel their child is getting closer to the nanny. No need to over react but you have the right to feel envious of the attention the nanny is getting from your child. As long as the nanny knows her position and does not steal your child's love on purpose, you have nothing to be afraid of.

Hiring a Nanny is something to be thankful for especially if the child is getting more than ordinary help. Consider this as a blessing than an alarming situation. You are not an irresponsible parent. Remember that kids are naturally innocent and the nanny is not there to steal your kid. Be happy that aside from you, there is another person who really loves your child, naturally.
