Why You Shouldn't Use Traffic Exchange Services To Build Your Home Based Business

By Russell Howe

From the early days of internet marketing with programs such as Avon, right through to modern era businesses like Empower Network, traffic exchange services have been one of the most commonly used methods of advertising a home business opportunity. Today you are going to see why you should steer clear of them if you are serious about making the most of your chosen opportunity.

Alongside safelists, this is one of the most misleading niche's in the world of online advertising for those looking to become their own boss. [

By targeting their marketing towards those who are looking for a 'magic formula' or a 'secret website' to help them become their own boss overnight, these services have managed to survive for almost a decade despite returning very small results to users.

Before we show you why they aren't effective, let's take a quick look at what they actually do...

They are designed to get you clicking on advertisements from other members of the service. Every 30 seconds you move onto the next advert, earning a credit in the process. As your credits mount up, you are able to put your own advertisement into the rotation.

The main reason they have survived so long is the way they present themselves to those who are brand new to the online marketing scene. They'll often make claims that your ad will be seen by ultra-targeted leads who are already highly interested in what you have to show them because they're already trying to make money online just like you...

Of course, this is nothing more than a sales pitch.

This can only be described as one of the most tedious ways to market any opportunity and given the lack of financial results which it generates, it's no wonder people tend to lose interest in them quite quickly.

Primarily, every person using the website already has their own internet business because that is the reason they joined the service in the first place. When somebody is looking to join an opportunity they don't sign up to one of these services and scroll through the ads, they do research on search engines, social media and Youtube. They eyes which are looking at your advert have very little interest in it, other than the fact it earns them a credit.

Also, the most popular way to use these services is to open 4-5 of them in multiple screens and scroll between each one as the timers tick down. This allows you to earn 5 times the credits in the same amount of time, but with one killer aspect. You aren't looking at any of the adverts. Of course, you aren't interested in them anyway so that doesn't affect you but you need to realize that this is exactly what other users are also doing. To put it bluntly, nobody is looking at your advert.

Naturally, the companies will promote the benefits to a premium membership on a regular basis but once again there is little value as the only major difference is you don't need to earn credits manually anymore. Your advert is still only getting seen by a small minority of individuals who haven't yet worked out that they could earn more credits by opening up more exchanges and scrolling between them.

Focusing your efforts on a marketing resource which returns little results or in some cases absolutely zero, seems like a bad approach to doing business. Yet countless affiliate marketers, regardless of whether they are working with an Empower Network or an Avon business, continue to toil for hours each day clicking on traffic exchange adverts in the blind hope that somebody is going to like what they see.
