Filipino Maid-What We Can Learn from Them

By Alice Sy

A Filipino maid undoubtedly exists along with any maid agency in the world. Wherever there is a household in need of a maid worldwide, the resilient Filipino can travel all the way from the Philippines just to lend a helping hand. We may see them as just that, a helper, but there is something deeper to them and their job, something we can all learn from.

Domestic workers have something we can all use: sacrifice for others. Their job itself is about hard work just to provide a helping hand in homes. Their most gruesome sacrifice though is beyond the hard work involved. It is about working all your life in another foreign land. Work hard for many years, without your family. You have to bear leaving the country alone, without anyone.

A domestic helper is the most humble of them all, we can copy that. Imagine the humility anyone has to possess along with patience and understanding to serve others and do all tasks ordered by the employer, no matter how trivial. Yes, serving other is hard, but on the bright side, you're helping them.

A helper video is always hiding a tinge of sadness behind the scenes. Imagine working all your life for you and your family with nothing but skills. The Filipino maid lives a life of help, helping the employer, the agency and their family. If you will work as a domestic helper, you will have to be selfless, it's all about sacrifice.

Doing household chores is not an enjoyable task. Yet a Filipino maid has been considered an expert. This is all due to one's hard work, positive attitude, love for family and above all for God that the Filipino helper manages to survive. If we can all live like the Filipino maid, what a wonderful warm world it will be indeed.
