Why You Should Use Natural Toothpaste Alternatives

By James Evans

Mouth washing is a hygienic exercise done in most of the families at least twice in a day. Both in the developed and the developing countries, people use toothpaste manufactured by different companies. With the discovery of new flavors and ingredients, these companies use chemicals that have long time side effects to human beings. Many toothpaste alternatives can save you from the listed effects that occur after using the commercial toothpaste for an extended period.

During the brushing session, it is advisable you use a pint of the paste on your brush. However, people use large amounts of paste hoping that it will be more efficient but that is not the case. The commercial toothpaste contains hydrated silica that interferes with re-mineralization of the teeth, therefore, creating cavities in them.

When brushing, you move the brush up and down in the mouth trying to ensure that every part of the teeth is clean. However, soft tissues inside the mouth and around the tongue are wounded by the bristles. The chemicals used in the manufacturing of the paste get induced in the blood system and end up causing headaches and nausea among other infections. This is mainly caused by the triclosan chemical found in all brushing pastes.

Conventional mouthwash pastes are added with flavors and sweetening ingredients that have a long term effect. Aspartame is the most common sweetener in the market, and it has scientifically been proven as a causative of various health anomalies. Depression and accumulation of weight are the major effects of its use, and it is advisable you avoid the use of such pastes.

Commercial brushing paste is made with fluoride to assist in the prevention of tooth decay. Consumption of water with fluoride ingredients contributes to discoloration and decay of teeth, and the same case applies to it. However, use of toothpaste that contains natural cacao extracts is considerably more effective when compared to the fluoride in the repair and re-mineralizing of the teeth.

Sores and small wounds in the walls of as mouth are common in people. They are disturbing and cause a lot of discomforts when taking meals or talking to people. The main cause of these sores is the availability of the sodium lauryl sulfate in the brushing agents. Ensure that this chemical name does not appear in the ingredient list provided in the packaging.

Strong teeth are not sensitive to ice creams and hot drinks. They also allow you to eat hard fruits like the sugar cane and apples. Regular use of whitening toothpaste has contributed to sensitive teeth greatly. The chemical elements that are used for whitening the teeth leave them in a weak position, and they cannot withstand some common chewing exercise.

Health officials are recommending natural methods of cleaning your teeth. These methods range from using hydrogen peroxide, oil supping, dry brushing and use of plain fresh water when brushing. This will ensure that your teeth remain white and free from cavities that are contributed by fluoride content in the pastes.
