There Could Be A Clear Solution To What Should I Do After Highschool

By Nick Anderson

There could be a clear answer to, 'What should I do after highschool', provided that a young person has parents who are willing and able to continue funding living tuition and perhaps even motoring expenses. In such fortunate cases it could even be possible to spend a gap year seeing the world, as privileged young people traditionally do. However, such privileges belong to a rather small minority of the human population.

Millions of young adults are not so lucky. Their years of dependence upon parents are coming to an end. From the age of eighteen they may be expected to contribute to the typical family budget in many cases. Where this is not necessary they may expected to at least provide for themselves.

These financial constraints limit a person's horizons. Where some may have the financial resources to spend five or six years after high school qualifying to be professionals others have to start earning right away. For them the answer to the question might be a curt, 'Get a job'. Getting a job might be possible because the work of the world must be done. People are needed in small business to serve customers, prepare food and remove garbage. The problem is that these jobs do not lead anywhere for most people.

Earnings are barely sufficient to cover expenses. To increase earnings a person might have to put in extra hours and this will make it difficult to engage in any further training or study for qualifications that might help one towards a better future through higher earnings. The answer could be to start an online business enterprise whilst still young that could provide an income either in its own right or as a way of funding professional studies after school.

Selling is not a new way of making money but a very old one. A salesman needs a good product to sell and then he can do well if he has a successful sales technique. In the new Internet era there are both new products and new ways of selling that have become available. Like chess this way of making money is not age sensitive. Some young people can sell well and so can some older people.

A common temptation for young people who find that they can make easy money shortly after leaving school is to follow the bait and go along the path of easy earnings without realizing that it is only a flat path on which earnings will remain the same for as long as the path runs. But the secret of success is to find a path that leads upward to ever higher earnings. Starting a growing business fits this requirement.

Some online business models, like that offered by Vemma, offers opportunities for young entrepreneurs to start their own business using a model that has already been developed. Quality products that appeal to young and old can be sold. A system of referrals works so that a residual income can be developed as sales expand. If such a business is started towards the end of a high school career it can fund further education whilst still continuing to grow.

Senior students can answer the question, 'What should I do after highschool?', for themselves even before leaving school. By enrolling in the program and starting to sell the quality products whilst still at school a steady income can be built up. It will continue over the years to come whilst further qualifications are obtained, opening the way to further possibilities.
