Choosing The Obey Sweater According To Recent Winter Fashions

By Joshua Founder

Streetwear is in the spot light because the latest fashion weeks have displayed a wide range of skater style and jeanswear across several different labels. Functional sportswear is very much in fashion, with gym, hiking and other activities acting as inspiration for some of the trendiest ways to wear denim. Knitwear is also being used to create a preppy look, and an Obey sweater is the ideal way to add upmarket appeal to winter casual clothing.

The current Obey sweaters collection for winter is inspired by outdoor rustic styles. There is also a preppy, formal approach to jeanswear, where cardigans are donned with button down shirts. An Obey sweatshirt can be worn with collared shirts and ties. Layering needs to be done stylishly to create the perfect preppy style.

Winter is the time to bring out neutral shades. Every year, chocolate, navy, black and grey form the basis for palettes, but this year is looking far brighter. Together with neutral shades, burgundy, indigo and burnt orange add boldness to the style. Burgundy Obey hoodies are mixed with jeans dyed a synthetic indigo shade. Women are still wearing neutral shades during winter, but with some fresh introductions in brighter palettes. Camel, black and cream are the core neutrals to wear with the Fifties trend. They also fit in well with country style fashions. Click here for Obey sweater collections in the key palettes for 2013.

Exciting prints are an imperative part of winter trends. For the first time, floral prints and knits have made their way into autumn collections. Graphic prints reminiscent of the Eighties are worn with jeans dyed in every shade imaginable. Find more on Obey sweater prints by visiting the site.

Men and women will be wearing collared sweatshirts, turtle necks and cardigans with collared shirts and T shirts. To complete the look, casual twill or denim coats can be worn. For a more formal look, suit jackets form the final layer, with the addition of ties. For more ideas on layering knitwear see more here.

The tribal trend of 2012 will continue in winter 2013. It will be joined by knitwear in every possible shade of blue. Lettering and fonts will be used on navy hoodies as part of the naval trend. Prison stripes are important denim prints for men and women. Jeans are also being fabricated to include glitter, sheen and metallic textures. These are the most innovative fabrics for the year.

Crew sweaters are more formal, and can thus be adapted for smart casual outfits. Selecting the right knitwear needs to be done with attention paid to fabric and comfort. Wool is too scratchy for the majority, but synthetics don't breathe and can thus be too warm. The looseness of the knit also contributes to temperature.

The ideal blend for sensitive skins features cotton/synthetic combinations in loose knits. The inclusion of natural fabrics allows them to feel soft on the skin whilst the loose knit allows the skin to breathe. An Obey sweater that doesn't include wool is machine washable and is unlikely to shrink.
