Twitter Expands Its Ads To Eight Countries

As of today, Twitter has announced an expansion on Geo-Targeted Ads In 8 countries. The move is due to a 95% increase in active users since the beginning of the year up to now. Just to make things clear, Twitter isn't only expanding it's geo-targeted ads to just eight new countries; it's just going deeper into geo-targeting ad in 8 countries that already have country-level targeting ads.



Geo-targeting is a great way of reaching out to local users or to engage your international audience. The eight countries that have been added to the geo-targeting feature include Australia, Indonesia, France, Italy, Mexico, Japan, the Netherlands and the U.K. You can now create ads that will be more relevant to your customers based on their location.

Twitter says that there is now a total of 12 countries who have state/region geotargeting available, and also have more than 200 countries with country level-targeting. Twitter has been offering some location targeting since late March this year, when it unveiled geo-targeting for Promoted Twitter Accounts and Tweets. But today's announcement has marked the very first time it has enables this type of Promotion Trends to state/region areas of an individual country.

Being able to target users from different countries could help you widen your international activities. Make sure you can display ads in the native language of your foreign customers and provide them with quality content. If your goal is to build your Twitter audience, create ads that will take users to your Twitter profile. You could also use ads that lead users to your official website if you want to directly boost your sales or raise your brand awareness.
